Should you Blog just to Blog? Nope.
I can almost hear the screams through my screen regarding SEO and why you need to keep your blog updated regularly and before I continue, I will say that I do agree that Search Engine Optimization is important for people to know that you exist. However, why you blog should not be dependent on your SEO; instead, if you write unique content search engines will eat your content up like a fat kid on cake.
Your main focus as a blogger is to spend time finding decent topics to write quality content, or to write something you are passionate about, so instead of trying to please the search engines, you are thinking about how you can best fulfill the needs of your audience. It is guaranteed that they do not want to read the same content twice but in a different voice with new and shiny words. Readers want fresh pieces of “word art” so they can learn something new, something that is thought provoking, no matter the topic, people want to be entertained.
Perhaps it would be going against the “blogging norm” to only write when something moved you or to write when your mind floods with thoughts on a particular subject. Us bloggers have been engrained with ensuring that we blog. Period.
However, is what you are blogging what you want to be blogging? Or are you blogging just to blog?
Your readers should be why you blog, not simply because you have a blog. Content is King, but only if you write content that is worthy of reading, think about it.
