Personalize a moment with Facebook Gifts
Facebook Gifts are coming soon to a newsfeed near you, but what are Facebook gifts and how do they exactly work within Facebook?
Good Question.
Facebook Gifts will enable you to personalize a happy birthday, a congratulations on a new baby or graduation or any other type of celebration that we share together on Facebook. Since we do share our lives more so on Facebook than any other social network, it seems fitting that we should be able to offer more than just words when a celebratory moment occurs.
Therefore, Facebook is soon going to enable users to be able to send gifts to their friends and family members that are on Facebook as well. We already receive birthday reminders and relationship status updates on the sidebar of our newsfeed and are able to see other special occurrences that are shared on timelines; Facebook Gifts will give you the ability to amplify their happy memory.
How Facebook Gifts will work
It will be a simple integration within your newsfeed located where your birthday reminders are on the sidebar, there, you will be able to click on “send a gift” which once clicked will take you to the various gifts Facebook will offer for you to choose from. You will also be able to send gifts to friends and family members from their timeline which will indicate the word “gifts” at the top of their status.
Once you choose that special gift you will be given the option to keep it private or share it with your Facebook friends (or whatever your sharing on Facebook privacy settings are), then you will be able to choose whether you would like to pay now or pay later once your gift has been accepted.
You can have your friend notified immediately for them to know that you sent them a gift and they will be able to read the attached card that you sent as well as preview your gift from the web or their mobile phone.
It will be up to your friend to tell Facebook where they want the gift to be delivered from a pop up window of addresses attached to your friend’s Facebook account and from there the gift will be shipped in a few days, letting you know of a celebration to finding and notifying a friend about a gift to having it sent to their front door all from Facebook.
