PinExt Facebook Changes Reach to People Who Saw This on Facebook Pages

If you have a Facebook Page, you are very well aware of the impact your shared content makes, it seems as though it is harder to be seen by all the people who have liked your page. This can be discouraging and leave the Facebook owner feeling like their efforts are going unseen.

A few months ago, Facebook added “reach” to the bottom of every post, showing a percentage of people that your Facebook content was reaching. To some this was confusing, to others, this was disheartening, since the amount was usually low.

Recently Facebook has switched “reach” to “people who saw this post”. A small change that could help page owners feel a little less unhappy about their page content being a percentage to having it as seen instead.

Does this help you? Or is it just Semantics?

  To extend your reach on Facebook, Facebook page Ads and promoted posts (which are not free)and proving helpful and visually appealing images can help too. Try the latter first and see if that helps if you haven’t already.

The people who have liked your page and the “reach” on Facebook are different things. The people who have liked your page chose to and therefore will most likely have interest and see it in their newsfeed. You can use promoted posts to have it seen more and by more people. “Reach” in general would increase naturally without advertising by finding and sharing popular content relevant to your page. The more actions like likes, comments and shares will extend the reach of your post.

I am an admin of a page but have problem with promoting my posts cos my country’s currency is not in dollars but in naira (a Nigerian currency) and i don’t operate foreign accounts. Please reply as to if i can use my verve card and if the money deducted will be converted to dollars or not, cos dollar is quite bigger than my country’s currency (naira)

Hi. Some times the number of people who saw my post is different from number of my funs. When I post, it’s shown on all funs’ newsfeed, an all of them see it, isn’t? So I think that this number is not based on this algorithm.

Thats why, how is is calculated ? Pleas explain me by details, what does Viral an Organic mean.

The difference between “Viral and Organic” on your Facebook page are:

Organic views are of people who saw your Facebook post from their Facebook newsfeed, ticker or on your pages timeline (Facebook Page).
Viral views are the number of people who saw your page post as a story from a friend.

These two numbers calculated together project your “people who saw this”. Therefore it is based on the Facebook algorithm and not necessarily based only on the people who liked your page. This will be based on the time you posted it, how far apart it is from your last post and the type of content. The more likable the content, the more actions it will receive which in turns creates more “people who saw this”.

My post had about 900 views yesterday, and today, there are only 460. I am a bit confused. How can the number go down.. Also FB says that my most viewed post has around 500 people who saw it, but I have posts that have higher numbers.

Facebook has admitted that there was a glitch in their numbers and that is why there was an inflation. You are not alone in that confusion and your English is terrific!

It is a little bit fake this *people who saw your post* – “have seen my post” – actually doesn’t mean they really have seen it. When something is listed in newsfeed, it doesn’t mean, it was really seen It was just there, but could be overseen ..

Sure some people could “oversee” the post but if you noticed, the more actions such as likes, comments and shares the more the number will rise and this is due to its organic and viral reach which is based on the Facebook algorithm, it is basically the most accurate read you can receive on how well your posting efforts are.

I have a page with my friend , AND WE ARE BOTH VERY UNHAPPY that we dont have this feature anymore. This is ridiculous. Facebook has a bunch of people that is doing wrong , many changes we dont like. I am sure we all realy like to see how many people we reach and this is not fair. Now we have no way to see that, is very confusing to go to the grafic, is easy the way it was. Thanks

The reach is just named “people who saw this” if you click on it it will explain what the differences are in viral and organic. It is meant to be more helpful.

The viewership of the content shared on a Facebook page is not based on how many people like the page. If it is shared, liked or commented on it is shown further within friends of friends newsfeeds. It is also more based on how many times it has been viewed and not necessarily from your FB page directly, think how many times have you seen the same post again in your newfeed, it happens. It’s viewership, not likes. I like to compare it to unique visits versus page views to a website…

  Can you advise how facebook invites work. I have been inviting friends to my page and then asking my friends to invite theirs by making them an admin. We have done very well but I know that a lot of my invites we’re not received as I called my friends up. Only 2 out of 6 of my friends received the invite. Do facebook slow down people liking your page. Also on the right hand side of the page where you can manually invite people it keeps showing the same names of people I already invited yet they are greyed out in the build audience feature. I would really appreciate if you knew anything about this.m

    Surely Facebook would probably have a caps depending on how many friends you are sending it out to, if their profile picture is greyed out then you cannot re-send an invite to them since according to Facebook the invite was sent. Of course, you will need to keep in mind that these invites can get overlooked in notifications and will be dependent on the settings of your friends profile.

    I am not sure of when you checked but if it was in the past few months Facebook admitted to a glitch in their numbers that raised the numbers really high. This also could have been a change to the Facebook algorithm which evens out the numbers to a more realistic number. 105 is still high

No you are not able to see the people of those who have viewed content on a page and that has to do with privacy. Viewership is not the same as a willing like.

You are able to see what calculated that number by hovering over “people who saw this” under each post which will show you organic and viral as well as if you promoted that post. The general number usually means how many viewed it within their news feed. Thanks for the question!

This must be a glitch, the “how many people saw this” is still a feature on Facebook. I would give it a few days to see if it works itself out and if not, you need to definitely email Facebook through their Help Center. I hope it starts showing soon!

ealier my post reach to 1000 to 2000.
but now people saw this post = 200 to 400
why this numbers gone done ?
and i notice every post does not goes to our fan main body of facebook.
it show only right top small box.

Thanks for the question! Facebook has uses an algorithm known as “EdgeRank” and it is not to hurt page owners but to help users of Facebook to see relevant posts to them so the news feeds do not get clogged up with every page post. Perhaps you need to reevaluate your status updates and use the Facebook insights to target your audience better, or you can use promoted posts. Their change also has to do with preventing spam as well, so make sure that your status updates are a mixture of various types of content and socially written. I hope this helps and good luck!

Only admins and page owners can see the numbers of who can see the content posted. This is not viewable to the public or to anyone visiting your page. That is why you are unable to see it on other pages that you are not an administrator of. Thanks for the great question!

The questions feature is no longer available on Profiles, they have slowly been removing it, it just means that yours is now gone. However, the questions feature on Facebook is still available for pages.

Like every site, Facebook has an Algorithm and the reach is not based on how many people you have on your page or how many people saw it. The reach is due to the type of content shared for those who could have possible seen it. If you want your reach number to increase try posting more organically on the site, such as uploading a picture or video to Facebook. You will see the reach increase since you are keeping people on Facebook.

You are able to see who actually saw posts in Groups and now on chat messages, however on Facebook pages the “reach” is as close as we get at this point as to see how many people could have seen it.

We do not own the ability for any changes on Facebook. It is neither something you active, if you have admin access to the page and you still don’t see it, it has yet to role out to your pages category. Somethings just take forever on Facebook.

There is no way to activate it, as long as you are an admin to the page you will see it or have to wait until it rolls out to your pages category.
