Google+ Yearnings: Retrieving Your Vanity URL and How-To Turn Google+ into a Desktop App

Google Plus Add Ons Google+ Yearnings: Retrieving Your Vanity URL and How To Turn Google+ into a Desktop App

Many of us are still trying to figure how Google+ fits within our social bionetwork, trying out its features and sharing information we share elsewhere as we strive to see what Google+’s presence will prominently represent.

During this journey, we yearn to have a personal place within the latest social network to improve our ranks and to become easily found and accessible to others. As with other social sites, they provide use with the ability to create a vanity URL, which Google+ does not as of yet.

Therefore, we must go elsewhere and there are currently two places where you can grab a vanity URL. However, it will NOT change the URL shown on your Google profile since Google owns neither, it will ONLY give you the ability to easily share the URL on other sources and will redirect to your current Profile on Google+.

How-To create a Vanity URL for Google+

You can create a vanity URL by either going to Gplus.to

Either will allow you to create a vanity URL by doing the following:

* Enter in your chosen URL nickname

* Enter the ID number that is within the URL of your Google+ profile

* Once you choose your vanity URL you will NOT be able to change it.

* Test it by typing the shortened URL and see if it takes you to your Google+ profile

The second sought out for Google+ entity is to have a desktop application. This is the best solution for those who want continued access while they are at work, especially when unfortunately many workplaces have yet to truly embrace the essence of social media.
